Where to eat

The Forest of Bowland is home to some of the best gastropubs and finest artisan food producers in Britain.

And with such a wealth of amazing produce made right here in the AONB, food miles are often in single figures.

From the award-winning Parkers Arms and Freemasons at Wiswell to the Courtyard Dairy and Bowland Food Hall, The Forest of Bowland is a veritable cornucopia of fantastic food.

Bowland Food Hall in Clitheroe – just a short walk through the grounds of the castle from the railway station – is the perfect showcase for the best produce in Bowland, and on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the stalls at Clitheroe Market are always well stocked with local produce.

And for the ultimate ‘cook’s tour’ of Bowland, check out Bowland and Bay’s bespoke foodie forays across the AONB and beyond.
